What Allah has forbidden

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Allah has forbidden you to be undutiful to your mothers, to withhold (what you should give) or demand (what you do not deserve), and to bury your daughters alive. And Allah has disliked that you talk too much about others, ask too many questions (in religion), or waste your property.”

[Sahih Al- Bukhari]

Commentary:

In the above Hadith the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) informs us of certain actions and deeds which Allah has forbidden upon his servants and also certain actions which Allah dislikes for his servants to indulge in and they are as follows:

  1. To be undutiful to your mothers, once again we learn that it is forbidden (Haram) to be undutiful to your parents and in this Hadith the mother is specifically mentioned.
  2. To withhold (what you should give).
  3. To demand (what you do not deserve).
  4. To bury your daughters alive, this is something which Islam prohibited after it was widespread amongst the Arabs before the Prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam).
  5. Allah dislikes that you talk too much about others.
  6. Allah dislikes that you ask too many questions (in religion).
  7. Allah dislikes that you waste your property.

And Allah knows best!
