Hardship of the Day of Resurrection
The Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Mankind will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.” Aa’isha (radi Allahu anha) asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Men and women together, looking at one another?” He (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “O Aa’isha! It will be too distressing for them to look at one another.”
We benefit from the above Hadith the following:
- The description of the gathering of Mankind as found in the words of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “Mankind will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.” In another narration the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) after mentioning these words recited the ayah: …As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it. [21:104]
- The severity and hardship of the Day of Resurrection.
- Everyone on that Great Day will be only concerned with their own individual reckoning not concerned at all with others.
- The virtues and modesty of Aiesha (may Allah be pleased with her) which can be seen in the question she asked.
And Allah knows best!
