Wealth does not diminish

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Wealth does not diminish by giving Sadaqah (charity).  Allah raises the honour of one who forgives; and one who serves another (displaying humility) seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will exalt him in ranks.”

[Sahih Muslim]

Commentary:

Apparently giving in Sadaqah (charity) decreases wealth, but Allah compensates the one who gives for His sake by increasing the givers wealth in this Life by giving the person more wealth or Allah may also bless the rest of the givers wealth in such a way that the sense of loss is removed from his mind and the person experiences much blessing from his remaining wealth. Otherwise, the giver is sure to receive the best recompense in the Hereafter.

As for a lenient and humble attitude, it is sometimes mistaken by man for his humiliation. But the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) teaches us that such an impression is incorrect. Indeed, humility increases a person’s honour and dignity, and in the Hereafter, if Allah wills, the best reward is bound to ensue for the person who possessed these excellent qualities.

And Allah knows best!
